Awned meadow beauty
Rhexia aristosa
Awned meadow beauty is state listed S1, endangered. It is also a listed Pinelands plant.

Witmer Stone in 1911 describes it as rare and confined to the Pine Barrens.

It was first discoverd in August 1888 in Egg Harbor City. Dr. Britton examined the plant and recognized it as a new species.

It flowers late July to late August and fruits late September into autumn.
